5.7.2 DE – Deal-specific Records

These Records should be used when a licensee and a licensor wish to communicate data that cannot be communicated using any other DDEX-defined Records and is contained in a DSR message created in accordance with the Financial Reporting to Record Companies Profile. DE Records are defined by agreement between a licensee and a licensor.

The DE Records can be used as summary Records as well as Records within a Block.

Use of the DE Records are signalled by using, in the first Cell, by the fixed string DExx with xx being a unique two digit-ID (e.g. 01, 02, 43, ...) as agreed between the licensee and the licensor.

Licensees and licensors are strongly disencouraged from defining DE Records.

However, it is recognised that there will be occasions, for confidentiality reasons, where a licensee and a licensor do not want to share even the structure, that is the Cell names of Record, with their competitors. Companies are strongly encouraged, however, to contact DDEX as soon as any such confidentiality requirement ceases to exist, with a view to DDEX developing a standardised approach to the deal-specific requirement and publishing a suitable new (or revised) Record.
